Yours, in haste ...

Savoy%20Invitation_200%20copy.jpg This is the only opportunity I shall get to post today. Having arrived in London last night - heavily laden with Forest ashtrays, Forest beermats and 400 Forest CDs to be given away tonight - I woke up to the news that BBC Online has given Revolt In Style a good plug (see HERE). The event was also mentioned on GMTV.

There are 400 guests attending tonight's event (double our original estimate) and people are still trying to book, although the event was sold out last week. Menus have still to be printed and 500 nanny state badges have gone missing, but apart from that everything is going OK.

I won't tempt fate by naming any guests (in case they don't show) but I can tell you there will be TV crews from Russia, Germany, France, Greece and Japan. Radio 4's You and Yours will be present, interviewing the likes of Antony Worrall Thompson. So too will Granada TV, filming for Tonight With Trevor McDonald.

The full Forest press release, including some great message of support, is HERE.

Have a great night tonight Simon and guests and well done for getting so much media attention there. I am sorry I could not attend, bit far and a bit pricey for me, but I will be with you in spirit as I am sure many other smokers and tolerant non smokers will be.

My husband and I had our last night out at Bingo last night, as once the ban comes in next week we will no longer go. Apart from the fact that when we go out we do so to enjoy ourselves, and not being permitted to smoke whilst we play, as 90% of the people do in bingo halls, will not equal enjoyment as we will just be waiting on the next break to go out for a puff, thereby missing out on cash games. This, of course will affect the non smokers left behind to play as the prize money will be greatly reduced.

Anyway, I digress. Have a brilliant night and hopefully the media in attendance will give us the publicity we are due and it will be a talking point in the news and on other programmes all of this week, if not longer,

Well done.

Regards Lyn

I wish everyone at tonight's dinner an enjoyable evening. The food and company will be first class and the occasion will be remembered for years to come. Regards to all.

I wish you a good night also! I'm not in the least surprised that you're overbooked. There is HUGE disgruntlement in the real world about this. Don't believe everything the meeeja tells ya!

Be proud and outspoken, all ye supporters of liberty and choice!

I would also echo Lyn's hope that the event gets plenty of publicity.

When/if the nanny state badges turn up, get another 49.5 million made up and do a national air drop ;)

This event needs to be hard hitting. The press will report this if it's controversial. Remember in sport John Mcenroe, Alex Higgins. Headlines were always made by these people. Let's take on the Ash liars directly.

All the very best for tonight - make headlines and do your bit - those who cannot be with you in person are with you all in spirit and if any of you meet Robert Evans, please provoke and mock him from me!

REALLY sorry I could not, as a student, afford to be with you tonight, would have loved to be there.

Hope it goes really well, with lots of publicity. Will be thinking of you all.

SO many people are outraged at this blatant 'legal' abuse of our liberties in this country.

It needs to address that ant smoking hysteria is not driven by really medical scientist but by religious zealots that hijacked medical science.

If we let them today to decide what is good for our health tomorrow we have to let them to decide what is best for our soul.

It needs always to remind the fact that moderate smoking is associate with long life span and good health.
