At last - a result!

One or two of you may recall that I went to Ibrox, home of Glasgow Rangers Football Club, at Christmas and saw my team (Dundee United) lose 7-1. We endured blizzards and God knows what else to get to the match so it wasn't the happiest experience of my life. (See HERE.)

The good news is: United went back to Ibrox a couple of weeks ago in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup and drew 3-3 having been 3-1 down.

On Wednesday they finished the job, winning the replay 1-0 with a goal in the 90th minute.

I knew you'd be interested.

Other match reports:
Celtic 2 - 2 Dundee United (January 2009)
Fever pitch (October 2008)

An excellent performance by Dundee United and to be fair caps off a brilliant season for them. They are only eight points behind Celtic with a game in hand and with Celtic in meltdown there is a possibility of Champions League football next year [okay a couple of qualifiers in deepest darkest Eastern Europe].

While it is a lot to hope for Dundee United fans they can take heart that their last game of the season is home to Rangers and if Utd needed three points for second place and Rangers had long since won the title would Rangers put up much of a fight?

Good luck for the rest of the season.
