The day ahead

Busy day ahead. This morning I'm a guest on SunTalk Radio with Jon Gaunt. Naturally we'll be talking about smoking but we'll also be talking about Forest's 30th anniversary and the publication of Christopher Snowdon's book Velvet Glove, Iron Fist: A History of Antismoking.
After that I shall be working on the imminent launch of our new campaign - Save Our Pubs & Clubs: AmendTheSmokingBan.com. In particular, I have to write some copy for the new website which goes live tomorrow morning.
Last but not least I'll be off to Boisdale of Belgravia where Chris will be signing copies of the book at Forest's 30th anniversary party. Entry is free and there will be complimentary cocktails, canapes and live jazz. Not to be missed.

Keep up the good work Simon.
In these recessionery times, with car repossession job losses etc cant see why people will not be reverting to pubs at some stage in the future to drown their sorrows and then it will only be a matter of time until someone who doesent give a s..t any more will light up and give the pc brigade the finger or maybe worse!!!
Very good interview, Simon. Well done!
It seem quite strange listening to two non-smokers saying how ridicuous the smoking ban has become. Like David Goerlitz, Jon Gaunt was an anti-smoker until a councillor said smokers should be banned from fostering children.
There's a tipping point for everyone Chas. The antis are pushing so hard that they are making new enemies each day as more and more realise how ridiculous their claims are and how spiteful their lobbying.
Their continued onslaught of and cruelty towards smokers will always be their downfall.
Have a jolly time at Boisdales, but do not forget that there are smokers outside London. Perhaps an event should be held outside London once in a while.
