They'd do anything to make you quit

The Government yesterday launched yet another quit smoking initiative. According to a BBC report, "The NHS Stop Smoking Quit Kit contains calming audio downloads, a stress toy and a tool to help smokers work out how much money they are saving by quitting".

Complementing the Quit Kit is a series of television adverts showing children singing 'I'd Do Anything' from the musical Oliver and asking: "If they'd do that, why won't you give up smoking?" (Seriously.)

Among those quoted by the BBC are public health minister Gillian Merron, Amanda Sandford of ASH and me.

Here we go !Here we go!Here go!
Yet another ochestrated attack on us (smokers).must admit i'm feeling very privalidged to receive all this attention at a cost of millions. We must be an elite now.Hard to destroy. This time the DoH have stooped really low by the exploitation of children in the adverts as a form of blackmail.Desperation i think.
Keep it coming is what I say.

You got to laugh, you just have to. http://freedom-2-choose.blogspot.com/2009/12/hungover-ive-got-perfect-hangover-cure.html

Warning! The video you are about to see is bound to offend the self righteous. But it's so damn funny.

"Quit Kits" ? ? ?
If the ASH gang keep pestering our senses with their
purile puritan silliness ,we will start distributing
our "Start Kits" to 11-18 year olds.
As for those who have quit .We will do our utmost to
make sure they start again.
Up untill now the Antis have been playing with the nice guys, the pleasant chaps, the polite, the correct,
the easy going. Now we will have to introduce the less
polite, the darker side of the British underclass

To late to say sorry

That video clip was brilliant. Thanks so much.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I did - home at last with my beloved family. It was warm, rich, colourful; full of love and laughter and especially a superb traditionalChristmas Dinner. Makes my resolve to help create a better world for them outside even stronger.

I'm aiming to have a lawful smoking protest in St Gillian of Merron's consituency. I need between 20 and 50 people - anyone interested?

My impression from my view of the Westminster bubble is that the 3 main parties are aware of two things. The harm that the smoking ban has done to the hospitality industry and that smoking rates are the same as pre ban or have gone up. The Department Of Health and its quangos are a tad desparate and trying to pull out all the stops.

The last I heard Dave was a slip from Bannatyne saying that smoking rates were now down to 18%. I haven't a clue where he dreamt that figure up from.

We all know that this is totally incorrect and that smoking rates are up (particularly amongst the youth).

I would expect that the DoH and their quangos will be attempting to prove this figure seeing as lot of their livelihoods depend upon it.

Well I see the antis couldnt even wait till after the festive season before launching their kiddie porn kit upon us.
The sad bastards wont even give us a break on people's familily and leisure time together without reminding us that nanny's beady and ever vigilent eye is always watching over us.
Never mind that calls from children to child abuse help centers have already increased by 13% this Christmas.
As long as mummy and daddy dont smoke in their presence, thats all right then.
Maybe the NHS could show their robot hearts are not all made of tin by donating the proceeds of their cack, sorry kits, to the very needy child abuse centres.
