Paul's protest moves to Glastonbury
Tuesday, July 31, 2007
Following a well-publicised protest in Wells, Somerset, karaoke owner Paul Toole is organising a similar event in Glastonbury on Saturday August 11. The march coincides with the Glastonbury Extravaganza (August 10-12) so it promises to be well worth the effort. More details HERE.

The reporter quoting Cancer research again, 'air quality dramatically improved since the ban'. Where would that be exactly? and what has that got to do with the march for freedom of choice. You cannot get away from the propaganda, whatever you do.
The man who said of the protest "smoking's not for me". What!! You feel like banging peoples heads together. Do they not see the bigger picture at all? Do they not see the erosion of freedom right before their very eyes? The answer is NO THEY DON'T! They are so blinded by the lies and vilification of smokers, that they believe this is progress, and a benign act by a caring goverment.
The public need to be educated quickly and in the strongest possible way, of the fraud that lies behind this law. It's time to wake them up.
I will try to make this protest, and AS MANY OF US AS POSSIBLE SHOULD JOIN THE MARCH IN GLADSTONBURY, and bring the town to a standstill. Lets make sure this protest grows, and well done Paul Toole. Keep it up.
Yes, the final comment by the reporter was ridiculous. Just go out and study the carbon monoxide emissions from cars for a start, which I have, and you realise what witless lot of idiots some of these media people are. As for Cancer Research UK - CRUK by name and crook by nature. Oh yes, as Simon will recall, these are the ones who fiddle their polls on line.
Hope this went well - I want an update!! thanks.
Jenny - it's next Saturday! :o)
Can I just say thanks to Simon for featuring this protest on the Forest front page and mailing the memberlist? Short of Forest organising its own protest (a London march, Simon, surely??) promoting those set up by others is at least a step forward and there's now a dedicated website section for this purpose - congratulations to Paul for getting some real action going and to Simon for getting behind him!
The support from Forest will help generate attendance for Glastonbury, which in turn will raise its impact and media profile, all of this is good for the cause. I went to the Wells protest and had a fantastic time and would urge ALL who oppose the ban to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to be there on the 11th. Paul is a real hero who deserves nothing less than our 100% backing and applause!
You're right Scorpy - how daft of me!! I want to see such a protest go successfully because now the blanket ban is underway it can only lead to further bans and infringements of liberties. People in this country should now get into the habit of getting together and protesting more about things they don't like. We seem to have got out of the habit (unless there's been lots of protests which have not been covered by the media). I salute organisers like Paul and his partner. I also think Forest's support is very important.
