Toot, toot

BanGov100.jpg Joe Taylor is a journalist based in Cornwall.  He previously worked for the Mail on Sunday and various local news agencies but has given it all up to develop a cartoon character called Toot The Smoking Sheep. (Yes, you read that correctly: Toot The Smoking Sheep.) In the run up to the smoking ban on July 1st, Joe is planning a 'Ban the Government' campaign, also featuring Toot, whose MySpace site can be found HERE. Meanwhile Joe has offered to develop a series of Toot-related cartoons for publication on the new Free Society website when it goes live next month. I think it's a great idea. But, please, no jokes about woolly thinking.

It's amusing that Joe has come up with this character,'Toot the smoking sheep'. This reminds me of a smoking cessation poster I saw recently which featured a flock of sheep, each with a cigarette in their mouth with the caption 'Don't just follow the crowd'. If smoking is about being enslaved to cigarette addiction then Toot doesn't seem to be enjoying much freedom does he? I think I prefer to stay as a free non smoking human being!

Lost your sense of humour Robert? That's what absorbing too much ASH does for you.

Personally I think Toot is kinda cute, and the cartoons are fab.

Come on Toot - Be a principled sheep - Please fight for our freedom 'cos we humans seem to to lack any will to resist this ridiculous, damaging and divisive legislation.
