We're all tobacco control officers now

From tomorrow smoking will be banned in all enclosed public places in Wales. In advance of the usual round of media interviews I have just arrived in Cardiff.

Hotel receptionist: "Good evening, sir. Are you here on business?"
Me: "Yes, I'm here for the smoking ban."

Pregnant pause.

Hotel receptionist: "Are you a tobacco control officer?"

You couldn't make it up. (And I haven't.)
