Dinner with David Cameron

DCflyer-100.jpg Forest has negotiated a special 'Friends of Forest' reduced price ticket to attend a timely black tie dinner with David Cameron. Organised by Conservative Way Forward, the CWF Annual Dinner is at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London, on Monday November 5. The price (£100, reduced from £125) includes complimentary wine and a complimentary pre-dinner drinks reception supported by Forest.

I appreciate that, even with the reduced rate, this still isn't cheap. These are interesting times, however, and it is important that groups such as Forest take every opportunity to engage in the political process and support other groups, many of whose members are, by and large, on a similar libertarian wavelength. If more like-minded people can join us at these events, so much the better.

For additional information and to order your tickets online click HERE, or telephone 020 7403 3990 (Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm). All you have to do is say you are a 'friend of Forest' and you qualify for the reduced price. Over half of all available tickets have been sold and remaining tickets are selling fast – so book now to guarantee your place.

PS. We'll be handing out some promotional items - CDs, t-shirts etc.

I sincerely hope that David Cameron will be asked if the next conservative government will amend the intolerant and extremist smoking one to a measure that is fair and just to all.As a very large minority group we,the smokers are supposed to have our minority rights protected. We are not supposed to be kicked out into the wind, rain, and snow to suit the extremist views of the non-smoking majority.Let him be reminded that as the old soldiers march past the Cenotaph on rememberance Sunday, thousands of them will have fought for freedom.Less We Forget

13 million smokers in England alone, I am led to believe. That's an awful lot of votes. I hope Mr, Cameron will take note.

Ask David Cameron if he will remove the total ban.Total ban is control freakery. Conservatives usually believe in choice- this should suit smokers and non-smokers. A lot of votes for common sense...

On the Freedom2choose site, a member posts the full text of a reply from DC's office, in response to his enquiry about the smoking ban. The reply does little more than refer the writer to the 'government department' concerned with "health". It also says - as a matter of FACT, unsubstantiated - that "public opinion has for a long time been pressing for a ban of smoking in enclosed public places". I find it very worrying indeed that such a blanket statement can be made from the Conservative office. Every time I get a little hope and admiration for DC, it just gets hit on the head again. What gives our politicians the right to make such blanket statements, unsubstantiated and totally ignoring a large sector of the adult population. I sincerely hope Forest and Taking Liberties can find foolproof ways of putting this very important question to him again. What happened to civil liberty and democratic vote? Or is he just as bad as Brown
and the rest? "We can decide for you - don't worry, it's just another form of democracy. " No, it isn't. It's fascism. Do it once, and you can keep on doing it unless seriously challenged. Freedom2choose seems very serious indeed about that challenge. Our political parties had better start taking note. There are a lot of very angry, concerned and active people beginning to come together and, just like Peter Finch in 'Network' we are starting to say: "We are not going to take it any more". Taken to conclusion, and with enough people on-line, we could be looking at the erosion of our present political line-up, at worst, and it's collapse at best. We WILL have democracy.

Well I always thought Conservatives believed in freedom and least government control, but after listening to DC's response to the smoking ban on webcameron I am not impressed. Pubs and Clubs are privately owned not publically owned whether smoking takes place on the premises should be the owners decision and no one elses. Ventilation could have been installed which would have solved the problem.

If conservatives dont return publicans private property rights and the right for them to choose for themselves they will lose my vote.
Anger dosent even come near to how i feel.
