Posh tosh

Answer yes to three or more of the following questions and you are considered posh. Apparently.

1. Do you go to the opera/ballet?
Funnily enough, I saw Tosca at the London Coliseum only this week.

2. Do you have a cleaner?
Not at the moment.

3. Do you wear clothing brands such as Hackett and Barbour?
I wore a Barbour jacket at Twickenham last Saturday.

4. Do you have an interest in horses/sailing?
No but my grandfather did. He played polo and had a dinghy.

5. Do you spend over £10 on a bottle of wine?
Sometimes.

6. Do you still tell people what school you went to?
Only if they ask.

7. Do you shop at Waitrose?
Is the Pope Catholic?

8. Do you say 'supper' instead of 'dinner'?
Both.

8. Do you greet people with a kiss on both cheeks?
Certainly not. I'm British.

9. Do you have an Aga?
No but I wish I did.

10. Do you drink Earl Grey/specialist teas?
Very occasionally but not at home.

11. Do you know what Prosecco is?
Do I know what Prosecco is? I drink three or four bottles of the stuff every week. In fact, I bought two bottles - in Waitrose - earlier today.

12. Do you eat hummus?
Stupid question. Yes.

Full story HERE.

That does it: I'm DEFINITELY getting the coal out of my bath tomorrow, and putting it in the outside loo - next to my sawn-off Purdy.

Mwa, mwa..................................

PS:

A 'Prosecco' is a Dry Italian Tart. But I'm not really sure what THAT means (and don't really want to know, ta).

I am common as dirt, I barely scored two.

1. Do you go to the opera/ballet?

No, however I like classical music, especially piano (I have played for 35 years) and go to concerts.

2. Do you have a cleaner?

No. Any volunteers?

3. Do you wear clothing brands such as Hackett and Barbour?

No.

4. Do you have an interest in horses/sailing?

No, but can undertand why people enjoy these pursuits.

5. Do you spend over £10 on a bottle of wine?

Yes at a wine bar, but not at a supermarket. 1/2 a mark here.

6. Do you still tell people what school you went to?

No, but happy to tell people that I failed my 11+ and went to a Secondary Modern.

7. Do you shop at Waitrose?

No, but Tescos is nearer anyway.

8. Do you say 'supper' instead of 'dinner'?

No

8. Do you greet people with a kiss on both cheeks?

Yes but only ladies who I know well.

9. Do you have an Aga?

No.

10. Do you drink Earl Grey/specialist teas?

No.

11. Do you know what Prosecco is?

No, had to Google it.

12. Do you eat hummus?

Yes but not expressly it has to come as part of another dish. 1/2 a mark.

Thanks Martin for letting me know what prosecco is, had never heard of it, I'd hate to have to pronounce it. As the test proves that I'm dead common anyway, guess I wont have to worry about it.

No to all except I do like horses - but then so do Pikeys - and I once had an Aga in an old council house which I suspect was put in before they became fashionable. The problem was that as a single mum I could never afford the coal. Oh those happy days under Margaret Thatcher when I'd have to ask my kids each week if they wanted to be cold or hungry because we couldn't afford both fuel and food on the pittance that was single parent benefit.
They always chose cold because we could all snuggle under a big quilt to keep warm but food we couldn't do without.
How glad I am that Thatcher's Govt made it possible to move socially so we could improve our situation.
Had I been in the same boat under NuLab no doubt the only change would be that my kids would have been taken from me because being poor equated with cruel in Bliar's Britain.
