I have just had a text from an MP, apparently yesterday's vote was "heavily whipped"

So when Labour are in power and confident of winning they get a free vote, but democracy falls over and MPs are told to vote against it.

Labour are ........ insert expletive.

Labour were whipped? 141? What a pathetic response! Worse for them than I thought. Barron and whipping? Roll back the years, bring on Scargill.

It's true what Dave says, I was told this last night, and it is exactly what I expected.

Remember the old TV programme, "The Prisoner", he used to say "I am not a number, I am a free man". I wonder how many Labour MPs can hold their heads up and say that?

Not many. Most of them no longer represent 'working people' and have misled their constituents grievously.

Labour 'heavily whipped' ?

Well, what DID you expect ? This is, after all, one of Socialism's babies, and its parents are not likely to take kindly to its slaughter. Whichever ticket they run under.

This is where the (so-called) Conservative Party comes in. Thank God it still has SOME conservatives within its ranks - and kudos to those who bothered to turn up and vote for the amendment.

As for those who didn't........................................

(It's all a question of Leadership)

I think a fair few of them wanted to stay out of the firing line, not risk being associated with one or the other. One hell of an improvement on the last time, the wind's obviously not blowing the way it was then. Change of momentum, I sense.

Certainly is on the street. I was in the barbers on Mon. and he was puffing away like a chimney!

"I was in the barbers on Mon. and he was puffing away like a chimney!"

Snap, Frank ! Mine's been smoking 'indoors' for well over six months now - despite his earlier dread of a £5000 fine.....................

Bit late to the party here, but couldn't resist adding to the 'barber' theme. Our son tells us his also puffs away while barbering.

Of course, it's possible that you're all using the same bloke but that's not very likely really.
