Turn pubs into gyms, says Hockney

David Hockney, pictured (left) at a Forest event in London last year and a member of Forest's Supporters Council, says that pubs should be closed and turned into gyms.
On a visit to west Yorkshire where he has a home, he said: "I have smoked for 54 years. They will never get rid of it and the pubs should close too because alcohol is worse. The pubs should all close and be turned into gyms with everybody on running machines! People shouldn't be drinking and smoking and having a chat!"

I was wondering what was to be done with pubs once the drinkers joined the smokers outside, leaving the interiors completely empty. I can see now. Take out all the chairs and tables, and replace them with exercise machines!
The Government should launch an IMMEDIATE feasibility study into this brilliant idea.
There MUST be a provincial 'university' somewhere badly in need of a research grant ?

Much as I like and admire Mr. Hockney, for god's sake shut him up. The cretins don't need any more bright ideas.

I thought pubs were being turned into housing and Tesco food outlets, as well as restaurants. Yes, indeed, the cretins do not need any further ideas!

Felons from colleges of practitioners have been embezzling and devouring of health funds. Extra tobacco tax will not go to health care costs, They the felons from colleges will line their corporate pockets and hide behind tax evasion scemes,with approval from the corrupt political class. They are a closed shop, They pretend to care for the sick when many would not touch a patient with a forty foot pole. They prefer to live inside academia and a safe distance from hands on healthcare.
