London calling

Not looking forward to today. I've got to go to London for some meetings that can't be postponed. It's 5.45, it's raining (which I don't mind) and there's a Tube strike. Somehow I've got to get from Kings Cross to Butler's Wharf (near Tower Bridge) to Parliament Square to Soho and back to Kings Cross. Damn.

My wife works in the City, and was not looking forward one bit to today, but I just received an email from her saying that she got in on time. Here is part of her email

"I must say it seemed quite well organised at London Bridge, there were officials with cards of different colours giving them to people who were waiting for taxis and it seemed that they would fill up a taxi with people with the same colour cards. Made me think why don't we have a dolmus scheme here, it would help the so called environment and save money for punters"

All down to good old Boris I would say. Can you imagine the chaos if Ken had still been in? Doesn't bear thinking about does it!
