A highly subversive video has just come into my hands. Shot at a secret underground meeting of the Save Our Pubs & Clubs campaign it features ... well, see for yourselves. Click HERE.
In mitigation, I would like to add that I was not expecting to speak and I had had a few drinks.

Good on ya, Simon.
But could we NOW have some Celebrities on board, too, please ?
You know - the Millionaires who don a ridiculous Red Nose once a year, harangue the rest us paupers into donating our cash to Some Fashionable Cause, and thereby expect our grovelling gratitude for their Sheer Altruistic Wonderfulness ?
After all, before Lenny Henry, I'd never even HEARD of Africa.
Just imagine what he could do for some of his SOCIALLY-malnourished fellow-countrymen...................
Phew, for one minute I thought you were going to sing Simon. Well said that man.
Simon you were brilliant.
Thats the most down to earth, truthful and meaningful no bullshit speech I have heard since the smoking ban.
Great the way you brought in suffering music groups post ban, who are now in the same boat as the poor auld fellas of rural regions.
Brilliant idea of Martin V to get a millionaire celeb on board, thats the way to go.
There's a lot of has been celebs out there that would love to put their moniker on a cause for a bit of nostalgic limelight.
If the climate change brigade can get Paul McCarthy to get us to give up eating meat because of farting cows surely the likes of Ronnie Wood could be persuaded to do us a favour.
Hope your clip is posted on utube and similar sites.
Ann -
Glad you agree.
WHERE are they ?
Ronnie'd be good - but let's not forget dear old Keith (one of England's finest Bluesmen).
Not sure whether Andrew Lansley is a Stones fan, though: he probably regards Westlife as Hard Rock.
As to cows-and-methane (Godelpusall), you MAY care to check out the latest Monckton vid on (of all places) 'Russia Today', here:

Cool and impressive (as always).
Anyone Martin, as long as its not bonehead Bono, cant stand the little prick.
I suppose Mick Jagger would still considers himself too big for such things!
Could always try for the really big guns of Simon Cowell, after all, he is a smoker too and quite high profile just now, whatever personal views individuals might have of him!
Talking of Simon Cowell.
