ConHome's end of year survey

Conservative Home has an end of year survey that asks you to agree or disagree with the statement that "Private clubs should be allowed to have smoking rooms".

You have to complete a number of other questions but it's worth the time. (If you want to add a comment about smoking in pubs, for example, you can do that too.) Click HERE.

Done III.

Must admit though, I've lost most of my faith in the tories after years of voting for them.

They don't seem to know what conservatise values are anymore.

I suppose I'll wait and see what their manifesto announcements are throughout January, but I'm not holding out much hope.

Me, too.

A few tasty crumbs - but I'm still hungry, Dave.....

PS:

I notice they DIDN'T have a question along the lines of:

"Do you think 'Climate Change' is a Big Con ?"

(Now, now, Martin - don't be GREEDY).

@Martin V

ConservativeHome attracts mainly the hard core Tories who deliver the leaflets, stand for the local council, activists and have blue in their bloodstream. Also it trolled by UKIPers.

As a regular reader of ConservativeHome believe you me the general consensus from the forum was man made climate change is a myth and 3rd world donations are a waste of money.

Here are two national treasures Roger Helmer and Dan Hannan in "denial," enjoy!

If we number our posts, then it will be interesting to see how many have completed the survey.

Great Radio 4 interview by Caroline Wyatt, a committed smoker who goes around Europe asking people what they feel about the smoking ban.

I like her comment about the smoking ban being started in Brussels (where bloody else), and yet you can actually smoke in bars and cafes there.
I've enjoyed this broadcast about 4 times now, it would seem we're the laughing stock of Europe...are you in anyway surprised?

Make yourself a nice cuppa...and enjoy!

Listen out for the Brussels comment about 3.58 in.

Dave A -

Thanks for the link !

I hope you're right - but how depressing that an ex-Party Chairman like Gummer can still come out with all this drivel.

Don't these people read ANYTHING ?

Christopher Monckton (a hero of mine) would make MINCEMEAT of the entire Tory Warmist Cabal and its Kiddy Science.

A 'debate' I'd LOVE to see (but won't, of course).

As to Dan Hannan and Roger Helmer:

Now you're talking...................

May I wish Simon and TL readers a Happy New Year.

For your information I have heard on the grapevine that the anti tobacco faction here in the UK and USA are getting jittery. There is much navel gazing if my sourses are correct. The myth of passive smoking is getting a wider audience and their juggernaut previously unstoppable is running on empty.

I hope we can send it to the scrap dealers for re-cycling into ashtrays.

Dave - I hope that it's a grapevine with influence and also that the antis won't be able to batten down the hatches and wait for the squall to pass over!

Yes - after all, the East Anglia University E-Mail Bombshell stopped 'Copenhagen' in its tracks.

Didn't it ?

Don't think the price in Ashtray Shares has bottomed out quite yet.

But in the longer term.................

Here's hoping that the new decade will finally bring a return to plain old common sense!

Happy New Year to All

I think the fact that thay are even asking about choice in private members clubs is a glimmer of something. What is it? something to do with acorns and oak trees?

Whatever happened to the Tory platform statement dated 02 Sep 2008 in The Sun newspaper, printed version only, called the Freedom Charter.

It proposed the following, in print:

Overturning the fox hunting ban

Scrapping the idea for ID cards

Amending the national DNA database idea to discount those who are not convicted criminals

Curb the activities of Health and Safety

Allow exemptions to the smoking ban

Lift the smoking ban for private members clubs

It also gave an address to write to show support of this party platform:

Correspondence
Conservative Campaign Headquarters
30 Millbank
London
SW1P 4DP

Has that since fizzled then and they are not going to attempt to bring in what they were then calling the Freedom Charter?
