Just fancy that!

"CCTV boom has failed to slash crime ... Massive investment in CCTV cameras to prevent crime in the UK has failed to have a significant impact, despite billions of pounds spent on the new technology."

According to Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville, who runs the Visual Images, Idenitifcations and Detections Office, CCTV has been an "utter fiasco" and only three per cent of crimes have been solved by CCTV.

Full story HERE in today's Guardian.

I can't believe the Guardian publishing a story like this, which shows yet another of Labour's failures. Next thing you know, they'll be doing in depth interviews with David Cameron.

I can understand the police now admitting it, as they now have to work with Boris, who will hopefully, get them back working once again in the public interest, with the threat of the sack if they don't.

No more jollies for them, now old Newt Livingstone's gone.

I am uncomfortable with the proliferation of CCTV and if these figures are correct, what a waste of time and money versus results. My only point in favour is how much of a deterrent are CCTV cameras in crime hotspots?

If this police officer is correct with his figures (and there should be no reason to doubt them), then it does raise many questions about the validity of investing in public surveillance systems.

Like the smoking ban, we have another example of New Labour's misuse of "evidence based" information/ studies to define policy and future law-making. Clearly, on this evidence, there is no justification for the further invasion of privacy from CCTV and the associated waste of yet more taxpayers' money.

I do not object to CCTV outright, but its application to every day life should be limited and only used where absolutely necessary.

Stop Common Purpose

If you don't know what Common Purpose is, I suggest you find out.

Common Purpose is a corrupt organisation which must be stopped:

In particular, consider how they have corrupted the British police:

COMMON PURPOSE:-

Dream on! Before you can stop Common Purpose, you have to stop their sub-division the EU. Before you can stop the EU, you have to stop their sub-division of the leaders of our three main political parties. Before you can stop the leaders of our three main political parties, you have to vote for our fourth largest - UKIP.

UKIP is not allowed to have a voice anywhere.

Dream on!
