Britain's smokers: down but not out
Wednesday, March 5, 2008
Writing on the Free Society blog today, journalist Ronan Thomas comments:
"Despite the ban, smoking itself is not going to be extinguished in the UK any time soon ... Cigar and cigarette smoking will gain more of a social cachet in a new 'counter-culture' of freedom. Bloody-minded British smokers will seek ever more ingenious ways to evade the rules. Smoking may be down in the UK but it is definitely not out."

Good ! We are not out my any means for the simple reason being we are not sheep or lemmings who are going to be dictated to.
I'll join everyone in their sentiments. The matter that is peeing me off the most is the sheer propaganda put out, all of cause lies.
Same here Dave , I am heartdly sick to death of the propoganda that is being put out to the public. How do these people get away with it ?
I have never known such a concentrated effort on anything like this before just to remove smokers.
Sort the Crime out if they want to do anything viable or are these people just not up to that or is it that there's no money in it ?
Propaganda exists because the media let it exist, knowing that much of it is lies, but having finance ( pharmaceutical advertising ) and pc agendas that don't allow for it to be challenged,
The fraud is so huge, and can be proven scientifically to be so, that they will have to open up to the truth at some stage. All of us have to be relentless in making that happen by constantly making waves about the deceit, and maybe one day soon it'll be a tidal wave, which cannot be ignored.
1400 pubs and clubs closed in this last year. 7 times as many as the year before, but nothing to do with the smoking ban???!!!
Talk about propaganda? This should be Alan Johnson's ticket for a free ( paid by smoker taxes ) mental health check up.
Oh, but of course he's a non-smoker so he must be healthy and telling the truth. It's only smokers who lie to justify their addiction.
