Jon Gaunt - update
I spoke to Jon Gaunt last night. He is offically "bemused" by Talksport's decision to sack him, but not surprised. When I spoke to him last week he feared the worst.
Jon says "big thanks" to everyone who wrote to Talksport calling for his reinstatement. The support he has received from friends and supporters of Forest is, he says, "unbelievable".
So, where do we go from here? The Independent reports that "the decision to sack Gaunt was overseen by one of his oldest friends" TalkSport's programme director Moz Dee. Story HERE. However the most influential person at Talksport is managing director Scott Taunton.
It's a long shot, but we need everyone who wrote to Talksport to do so again. This time, send your emails to managing director Scott Taunton (scott.taunton@talksport.co.uk) and programme controller Moz Dee (moz.dee@talksport.co.uk).
Keep your emails short and sweet (these guys are not going to read long diatribes) and avoid abusive language. You can copy your emails to Jon (jon@gaunty.com).
Thanks for your support. As I always say, never go down without a fight.

Time to rest on this one now Simon.

If the cap fits....
Chris, with respect it is time to up the ante in my humble opinion. Cliche time but this is the thin end of a very thick wedge.
I had an answer for you Dave but Simon removed it!

Your comment is correct. I don't like it, but you are 100% spot on!
Jon may appeal

I have just received the following email:
Dear Charles,
Can I begin by thanking you for taking the time to express your views regarding the former talkSPORT presenter Jon Gaunt. As you are no doubt aware, talkSPORT has terminated his engagement as a presenter and service provider to the station.
Following a thorough internal investigation into events surrounding Mr Gaunt's interview with Redbridge councillor Michael Stark on 7 November, he was found to be in breach of a significant number of obligations he made in a signed agreement with the station. I have, of course, set out each of these in a letter to Jon.
As you are no doubt aware, Jon has stated his intention to take legal action over the matter and I am therefore unable to comment further to you at this stage.
Thank you again though for taking the time to write to me with your views.
Yours sincerely,
Scott Taunton

Please bring back Jon Gaunt, Talk Sport is NOT the same without him.
