Banned wagon targets patio heaters

The smoking ban has prompted "huge demand" from pubs, clubs and restaurants for gas-fired heaters, reports the Daily Mail. "Experts ... estimate" that the additional patio heaters could produce up to 320,000 additional tons of carbon dioxide. Full story HERE.
Some DIY stores, bowing to political correctness, have banned them already. That's their choice. However Friends of the Earth wants the government to go one stage further and ban "these metal monstrosities" completely. I've a good mind to buy one today.

I`ve just bought one,and it works beautifully,seems to attract all the local flying wildlife though!!
What did anyone expect from this New Labour government. They criticised the Tories for the laws they brought in. In December 1996, Tony Blair stood up in the commons and stated that their attack on the Welfare State was not acceptable in the western world. What did he do? Exactly the same. Even in Wales. Not really a surprise when this 'Plonker' was the son of a former Chairman of the Scottish Conservative Party.
I thought we had a law called 'The Mental Health Act', whereby anyone who did not meet certain acceptable standards as laid done under this act could be placed, against their wishes, in some mental institution. After reading this article I can see many people plying for such positions. Most of this government should be 'Certified' under this act.
They have always maintained that CO2 emissions were the cause of global warming and yet their laws have been set to ensure that this is drastically increased. A friend of mine told me the other day that this smoking ban was a good idea as it since as a nurse, she had seen many cases where legs had been amputated because of smoking. She soon c hanged her mind when I pointed out that a former Welsh Rugby star had his part of his leg amputated. Especially as he was giving out certificates to smokers who had given up.
Remember, it was this government who in their wisdom got the EEC to outlaw British smokers from ordering tobacco products over the Internet. All this did was to increase CO2 emissions because we now have to travel to the continent. What this will do is to take further trade from the UK. Many non smokers do not accept this ban because this makes their holidays abroad cost more. They were the ones who were bringing duty free products and mostly covering their holidays.

I am a smoker, but non-driver. I live alongside a main road; equivalent to 20 a day I understand. If we live in a 'choice society', how can it be that I no longer have much choice, but those who choose to drive 200 yards (not metres) to deliver their children to school are allowed to pollute my lungs?
I have a great idea for July 1st... We should all buy plastic pipes that are capable of blowing bubbles. At 7pm (or other allotted time) on the day, smokers of England unite. All stand by the bar, and blow bubbles... No laws broken, but a few people not happy about having to move their pint to avoid a big, soapy bubble splatting on the side of their glass. I'm sure that they won't mind.... if they're smokers.

We are always being told that "they" say this, and "they" say that, the trouble is, that hardly anyone seems to question the proverbial "they". Who are "they", and why do the majority of us take notice of them (they who must be obeyed)?
Maybe someone should point out to the proverbial "they", that in India, where CO2 emissions are greater than almost anywhere in the world, it has had the opposite effect, with a distinct cooling down of their temperature.
Any chance of anyone from the dreaded "they" brigade explaining this one, and maybe putting it into context with why patio heaters should then cause us the opposite effect of what is happening in India?
The Daily Mail has rolled over for the government - fact. So much for a paper that claims to represent freedom of thought and independent mindedness. Poof!
I tried posting a comment regarding these heaters. This was last Saturday. You will notice that they didn't allow it. Why I don't know. it wasn't a personal attack on any individual and I ran a Grammar and spelling check in case this might have caused problem. Even letters and spaces which were with the 1000 recommended.
"They" are up to all manner of "Statistical manipulation" Does anyone read science magazines? Really interesting stuff:

I'm just guessing but I don't think Mars, Jupiter or Pluto have much industry or other global warming threats such as cars, patio heaters or any of that!
Some scientists think its "An intriguing coincidence". Doubt that very much. Unless scientists write "with respect to global warming" on their funding applications they don't get funding. Like the second hand smoke "danger" - all the figures are manipulated or just plain made up. Its all about money and control. You cant believe anything "They" tell you now.
It would appear to me that since most of those who risked their lives to protect us from fascist oppression are no longer with us, that no-one is left to remind us of the greatest threat to civil liberty and freedom in recent times.
The fact that it was Hitler who not only introduced the smoking ban propaganda but that it was the Nazis who first coined the phrase 'Passive Smoking' with no less proof than the anti-smoking gestapo has today.
The burden of proof rests with our accusers to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that we are guilty of killing or at the very least causing harm to non-smokers, and by the same token we have the right to provide evidence of all research, and there is a great deal of it to support our claim to innocence.
